Most of the info sites like Wikipedia and Seattlewikia are slightly ambiguous about the boundaries of Wallingford. Here is an unofficial official map of Wallingford published on www.seattle.gov for the adopt-a-street program. This would technically make Tangletown a part of Wallingford proper. If you believe the City's definition of the neighborhood. But for further clarification, the Urban Village is extended to the white area in this zoning map from 1999.

Juicy Tid Bit: A friend of mine completed a graduate thesis in a public policy oriented program on the walkability of Seattle neighborhoods. Wallingford ranked 10th with a score of 90. --==>

Meridian Park, Wallingford Playground, and the fields at the south end of Green Lake host a wide variety of pick up sports almost everyday of the week. Look for a post later that will detail some pickup games for soccer and ultimate frisbee.

Seattle Metro Route 44, 16 and 26 run through Wallingford running to Ballard, UW, Northgate Mall and Downtown.

Seattlewikia has a ton of info on Wallingford; helpful links to many things that one would be interested in either living or visiting Wallingford. Wallingford.org is also an excellent way of staying updated on official happenings. On the side, there should be a list of links for a bunch that I regularly read. After recently moving to Wallingford, I started looking for the neighborhood Wallingford blog. To my surprise, there was no blog or website that was being kept up to date with the happenings of Wallingford. There was a blog called 'Wallingford Wanderings' that I spent some time looking at, but slowly realized the last post was in February 2007. So, I started this, with hopes that eventually this would turn into something of a group project that would benefit people who like Wallingford.

If anyone who lives in and/or near Wallingford is interested in contributing, my fingers and readers will appreciate it, even if it is just a one-time thing. Email welcometowallingford@gmail.com with blog in the title. Having multiple people contributing will help keep the blog interesting, diverse and relatively democratically elected.
